| Judging When we first started out, judging who would go into the finals show was done by the people who had shown up to select entertainers for other gatherings. We soon learned that situation could have too many differences of opinion as to who would be in the finals show. It also set up a situation where the people selecting were also entertainers, and they wound up selecting each other. In order to get out of this situation, we have gone to a three judge panel. Two judges are entertainers while the third judge is a general audience member. Each contestant starts with 10 points for content and then gets points docked if its not properly themed. This gives each judge 40 points to award to style, performance, etc. As soon as an act is finished, a fourth person collects the score cards, tallies the scores and posts them up on the board for everyone to see. This way everyone knows just who is in the running to be in the Saturday night Finals Show. The two judges who are performers will be added to the top ten performers in the Finals Show, putting a total of twelve acts in the finals show. |
